TABLE OF CONTENTS
You’re an Altamonte business owner. Your business has a website. Now what? How do you get people to your site?
There are some easy, sure-fire ways that can help increase the performance of your site and drive more clients to it. One of those ways is creating a blog and writing posts on a consistent basis.
How do you even begin? How do you get to the nitty-gritty of writing a blog? Let me help you out with these tips.
Creating a Blog
Creating a blog is relatively easy. The most essential part is devising what you will be talking about and writing about. You do this by determining the voice of your business.
Determine Your Business’ Voice
To consider voice, there are some questions that you should be asking:
What sort of voice do you want?
- Do you want to be informative?
- Funny?
- Lighthearted?
- Or all three of these things?
How will you say your company name?
- Is it “The” Business?
- Or just Bussines?
- Are you an “I” or a “we?”
Once you work out how you will address yourself, stick to it. That’s the same for word-usage, too. When it comes to language, consistency is key; the same goes for marketing.
Set Up a Schedule
Create a schedule for yourself. Having a schedule that works with you will make it harder for you to miss a blog, which, let’s face it, can and will happen. And that’s okay.
You want to post at a consistent rate. It doesn’t have to be about quantity; make it about quality. Build a plan that you can fulfill. For our blog, we post twice a week, for your blog, you can post anywhere from once a week to once a month. Just do what works for you.
But when you decide, make sure that you keep to it. Consistency is key. In fact, it’s not just key, it’s king!
Keywords, Use Them
As an Altamonte small business owner, the goal for your blog posts is to optimize it with keywords. Keywords are essentially what people type into Google for web searches. Using these keywords will help you get ranking on Google. Researching terms for your business will help you come up with blog topics and find keywords that will help you get discovered on Google.
Pro Tip
If your business is local, place your location and the locations you want to target, into the keyword. Also, consider the services that you offer. If you’re an AC company, then a good keyword would be “Orlando AC repair.”
Here’s a cheat for you to help jump start you with using keywords:
- Location + Service = Good Keyword
- Orlando Social Media Marketing ✅
This a good starting off point to help you develop your plan.
