Step 1: Optimize your Google My Business Listing
But maybe first, we should ask…do you have a Google My Business listing? If not, consider that step 1-A. Your Google My Business listing is one of the best, easiest, quickest, and most cost-effective (aka free) ways to let Google know your business location and the services you offer customers in that location. So if you haven’t already, find your business and make sure to claim your listing.
Then, it’s important to update it with all of the information you can think of about your business – including but not limited to photos, your logo, store hours, service areas, and contact information. And not just once, but on a regular basis – if you really want to be Google’s BFF. Updating your listing regularly shows Google that your business is actively providing the most current information to potential customers, which will help you with how to find new Orlando customers and increase sales.
Step 2: Make Sure Your Logo and Website Are Up to Date
While some may say this doesn’t directly affect sales, you as a consumer can probably attest to the power of branding. Have you ever looked up a company online and seen their early 2000’s website and logo, then found yourself questioning the company’s legitimacy or quality? I know I have. Though it’s not always a fair judgment, it’s just a matter of fact that people do judge books by their cover. So you want to make sure your cover (aka brand) is as enticing as the cover of a Nicholas Sparks novel! Preferably one with Ryan Gosling on it…

Step 3: Networking, Networking, Networking
Some may consider this an “old school” technique, but networking is tried and true for a reason! It’s so important when trying to grow a business that you get your name out in the community. There has been an increased emphasis on supporting small businesses (and we are SO here for it) but people have to know who you are in order to support you.
So we encourage you to get involved in your local Chamber of Commerce, join Facebook business and community groups, sign up to attend events (virtual or in-person) and then the most important and most often missed step – follow through! If you make a great connection, follow through with that person to show that you really care about getting to know them and supporting their business – and they’re likely to do the same for you.
