Tell us how you first got into blogging.

We are both stay at home moms and we wanted to have an outlet to express our personal style. Starting the blog was our way to do something fun together.

How did you establish your “theme” or brand?

We are both moms and it’s really easy to get stuck in the mom rut of yoga pants and sneakers. We wanted to create a place to inspire women to see that being fashionable isn’t as hard as it looks.

For your theme or brand, do you have things that you do consistently?

We really like clean lines and we try to keep our blog and our social media pages crisp and clean.

Where do you find the inspiration for your blog posts?

From each other and other bloggers. We have a great group of blogger friends that we are close with and we all inspire each other.

What do you think is the best strategy to get more traffic to your blog?

We really try to interact with our readers and other bloggers. Just putting ourselves out there has really helped us get more followers.

What’s your favorite social media platform? Why?

Instagram, it’s our largest social media following and we love interacting with our followers.

How do you gain followers?

We really have gained our followers organically. It’s taken us a while, but in the end, it just feels right, and we have people that actually want to follow us for us.

Once you have the followers, how do you keep them & engage with them?

We try to reply back to their comments and always answer any questions that they may have.

How many times a week do you post?

We mostly post 5x a week, but in the summertime, we cut it down to 3x.

Is this a part of your strategy to keep gaining followers or do you post at random?

Our posts reflect our personal style and what we like best. Sometimes it’s trendy, most of the time it’s not. We really try to stay true to who we are and our followers seem to really appreciate that.

What are some misconceptions about social media?

That it’s real life! We have kids with crazy schedules and our lives are not all flowers and rainbows. People only put up the best of things, and that’s not always reality.

How do you find relevant hashtags for your photos on Instagram?

We tend to do the basics, #ootd #flashesofdelight things like that. Nothing crazy.

Do you have photos taken professionally or do you take them yourself?

We have a few great photographers that we work with.

What are some tips you can give in order to take a good photo?

Learn your camera! It’s important to know how to use what you are working with to get the best shot.

What’s your favorite location to take photos?

We happen to live right by Historical Roswell, which is an old Southern town. It has some great spots to take pictures.

What are your top 3 favorite emojis?

I love the hand slapping the head one, I may use it too much. Kissy lips and heart eyes are my top 3.

How do you keep your website updated & relevant?

We have a designer that helps us keep our site updated and current. For the most part, we are happy with our look and I don’t see us redesigning anytime soon.

What apps would you recommend to our followers?

SnapSeed is great for editing photos. It’s easy and really adds a fun pop to images so you can get the look you want.

What else do you want to add to help small business owners?

Just to stick with it. Some days things are perfect and others they are really hard. It’s all about balance and finding out what is best for you.
