In this digital world, the quality of your brand’s imagery can make or break your marketing strategy. While this is true, you may be asking yourself “Do I have the time or money to take my own photos?” If you answered no, then there are many free stock image resources available online that you can use to market your business effectively. Let’s check them out.
Using Stock Images
Wait! Before we dive into the list, let’s talk about how and where you should be using stock images:
- On Social Media
Free stock images are great for generic photos that are relevant to your business. However, if you’re trying to promote a product or your brand, you may want to use your own imagery. That way your brand stands out from the rest.
- On Your Website
This is perhaps the most common use for free stock photos. This is because websites these days rely heavily on imagery, but many don’t have the resources to take their own. But make sure you use them sparingly! You wouldn’t want your “About Us” page to show random stock image models; you want pictures of your actual team. That way the user experience is more personalized to your brand.
Okay, now that that’s covered, let’s get down to what you came here for:
Free Stock Image Resources
Some of these are better than others, but they are all great resources to use for free stock images. My personal favorites that I use daily are Unsplash and Pixabay, but you can use whatever you want as long as it’s free to use. http://thestocks.im/ is also a great resource that compiles many of the sites listed above into one simple interface. Check it out!
