What Is Your Name?
Kelly Lamano
What Is Your Job Title?
Content Creative
What Do You Do On A Daily Basis?
I write, edit, analyze reports, deploy email campaigns, and plan social media posts on a daily basis. I keep the creativity flowing with music and podcasts!
How Do You Get Yourself Mentally Prepared For Your Job?
I never leave my house without eating breakfast! It helps me start the day off feeling energized. Then, I’ll open my email to catch up on newsletters such as Whitespark, Litmus, and Pulptown to stay updated on what’s going on in Orlando and the marketing world!
What Experience Have You Had In The Past That Led You Here?
I worked as the Editor In Chief of my college newspaper, the Southern, where I fell in love with interviewing, editing, and page design. After college, I worked for a digital publishing company for 5 years, which involved email marketing, digital subscriptions, and solving tech concerns for local and national publishers. My previous experience taught me how to manage and communicate with clients in a fast-paced environment while keeping my writing in tip-top shape.
What Are Some Tips & Tricks To Help Make Your Job Easier?
I’m always seeking new ways to learn. I like to attend conferences, experiment with website platforms, and practice writing every day in different formats. Marketing is all about repetition and staying in the know with industry standards.
Who Do You Work Closely With?
I work closely with the other Content Creative, the Strategic Coordinator, and the Graphic Designer on a daily basis. We work well together, and they help me brainstorm content to bring my visions to life.
What Do You Love Most About Your Job?
I love the collaboration! We work with so many different client industries. My work involves research and collective brainstorming sessions, which provide ongoing learning opportunities. It’s nice to know that we have each other’s backs as a team, and we all want our clients to succeed.
What’s your favorite thing to do/ what are your hobbies?
I love performing at open mic, journaling, and practicing yoga with cats.
What motivates you?
Learning and exploring new places motivates me. I love taking road trips, finding quiet places to inspire my writing and photography in a distraction-free environment.
What’s your favorite color?
Purple
What would you tell someone who doesn’t know about marketing?
Marketing is a very fast-paced environment. A strategy that works today might be gone tomorrow. We work with clients regularly to make sure we’re meeting and exceeding their goals.
What’s the biggest thing you’ve learned thus far?
Proofread, proofread, proofread! I’ve always been a grammar nerd, but it helps to have a fresh set of eyes – such as our team members – review work before sending the final product to clients.
What’s something not a lot of people know about you?
I had back surgery when I was 10 years old to treat scoliosis. While I didn’t play sports growing up, I rocked at intramural ultimate frisbee in college and later found a passion for weightlifting to stay strong!
