There’s no denying that SEO (search engine optimization) is an investment for any business. You’re either DIY-ing your website’s SEO and investing your valuable time, or hiring someone in-house or through an agency and investing your money. Before you make any investment, the logical question is, ‘What’s the return I’m going to get out of this?’
If you have a website and you rely on it as a lead generator for your business, you need SEO; there’s no getting around it. Here are some numbers that back this up:
- Less than 1% of Google searchers reach the second page of Google. That means you need to be on that first page if you want to be seen.
- The top traffic source for all websites is organic search – otherwise known as traffic brought in from Google, Bing, or any other search engine.
- 88% of marketers investing in SEO plan to continue or increase that investment this coming year.
Now that we’ve established how important it is that your website is appearing on Google, let’s get into the real purpose of the case study. What have we, as an agency, done for our clients in our first six months working together?
I’m going to share the results for a few clients in different industries with websites of varying lifespans. All the results are very different because that’s how SEO works. Sometimes, the first 6 months aren’t going to show a lot of progress (but sometimes they do!), and that’s because SEO does take time. We’re always going to be upfront about that.
From my experience, I usually see SEO start to have an impact on a website within 90 days or so, and that’s what I usually look for. That doesn’t mean the website is right at the top of the Google search results after 90 days, it usually just means we’re starting to see some increase in website traffic and overall search engine rankings.
The Client: A Boutique Personal Injury Law Firm
The first client I want to share with you is a personal injury attorney who came to us with a new website and firm. We evaluated his market as well as the current performance of his website. Personal injury is a highly competitive field of law, and his website was optimized, but it needed to be more built out. We added 10 new service pages to his website by creating more specific pages for each field of law he specialized in. We also ensured the rest of his website was optimized for his specific market using a local SEO strategy.
The Results
We increased his website sessions from 0 to 148 average monthly sessions and secured top 100 rankings for 25 keywords and top three positions for seven keywords on Google.
These are just numbers, though. What’s really important is that he’s seeing an increase in business that’s directly related to his increased digital presence.
The Client: A Multi-Location Florida Law Firm
When this legal client first looked for an agency and found us, we knew that a targeted SEO strategy would help them achieve their desired results. We started a strategy that included increasing the number of pages and content on their website, publishing regular, informative blog posts, optimizing and updating their Google Business Profile, and making their website more user-friendly and optimized for performance.
The Results
Through our SEO efforts, we have achieved rankings for 131 keywords on Google, leading to a 75% increase in website traffic. Our utilization of Google Business Profiles as a key digital asset has yielded 199 goal completions from this traffic, 133,000 profile views, and 2,434 visits to the website.
The Client: A Central Florida Electrical Contractor
This client is an established electrical contractor in the Central Florida area, offering a range of services to commercial and residential clients. They came to us for a new website and an ongoing SEO strategy so that they could start generating leads and new business through their digital presence.
The Results
Within the first six months of SEO services, this client saw an 83% increase in website traffic and impressions.
When they started, their website averaged around 14 visits per month, and it currently sees around 160 visitors per month. While our SEO efforts are far from over, we have seen quite a few successes, including moving multiple high-value keywords (search queries) from not ranking at all to appearing on the second page of Google search results in their target market. These keywords include:
