5 Simple Fixes To Help Your Rankings

Happy New Year! This year everyone is looking forward to making changes, helping grow themselves and making a difference. But, let’s get real for a second. A lot of the resolutions that are said to be “promises” tend to go undone and fall off to the side. However, for you, this would never happen, right? Right! This year you want your business to grow and you want to help it expand. How can you do that? Easy, fix some of the simple things that people use to find you, such as your rankings. You rank on Google for multiple factors, some because of your page rank, or how long you’ve had your URL. But there are 5 easy fixes I came up with to help your rankings. Here they are:

1. Help your rankings by claiming your local listings: Make sure you claim all of your listings on sites such as Yelp and Google Local. By doing this, you can monitor them to make sure your customers are happy through reviews, and you can update information such as new hours or photos.
2. Help your rankings by making sure your local listings are consistent: By claiming your local listings, you need to make sure the address and phone number are listed correctly.
3. Help your rankings by making sure your photos have the correct ALT tag: Photos can be optimized too for the keyword you’re ranking for. Most times, if you have WordPress, or any other website platform, it will give you the option when you’re uploading the photo to include an ALT tag. I usually use the title of the document I’m attaching it to.
4. Help your rankings by making sure the title of your page includes your keyword: Many people don’t have a direction when it comes to pages. They post the page and don’t make the content relevant to the title of the page. For instance, if you have a page about private investigation, make sure the title matches the content and the content talks about the title of private investigation.
5. Help your rankings by making sure your pages talk about your keyword: Many people blog. Blogging is good, but it’s even better when you’re talking about a keyword subject. When you blog, make sure you’re including they keyword multiple times in order to make the message clear what your focus is to Google and other search engines.
Bonus Tip: Make Google Analytics your BFF. Google Analytics is the best tool out there for helping you know where your audience is coming from and what they’re looking at. You can tailor pages based on what page their leaving your site on and you can ramp up certain social media sites if you see the majority of your traffic is coming from there.
Overall, your site should be an online showcase of your brand. Make sure you follow these easy steps to help your ranking. If you have any questions or need help with your website, contact us here.
